Dental implantation is a modern and well-developed way to restore the integrity of the dentition by implantation, in all respects, not inferior to natural teeth.
Benefits of Dental Implantation:
Restoring one or more missing teeth;
No need to process (grind) adjacent healthy teeth;
The ability to use the implant as a support for removable prosthetics;
Preservation of bone tissue in a healthy state;
Great aesthetic result;
The life of the implant is from 10 to 20 years.
There are several ways to implant teeth:
One-stage dental implantation. In this form, the implant is inserted into the prepared bone bed so that the implant head is above the gum surface, seams are placed around the perimeter, so the gingival margin is formed immediately, and prosthetics can be started in the coming days.
Two-stage dental implantation. This is the most used type of implantation today. The purpose of the operation is to implant the implant to ensure good integration (engraftment) in the bone tissue of the jaw. The operation takes place in two stages:
- The introduction of the implant. The implant is inserted into the prepared bone bed and completely closed by the mucous membrane and does not come into contact with the environment and oral cavity for a period of 2-3 months during treatment on the lower jaw and 4-6 months on the upper.
- Gum formation. After the above period, the head “gum shaper” is screwed into the intraosseous part of the implant for a period of 10 days, until a gingival ring forms around the shaper. Then, the supragingival part of the implant is screwed into the place of the shaper with special tools – the abutment – this is the connecting element between the implant and the future orthopedic design.
Express dental implantation. This method is used mainly in the frontal group of teeth, due to the high aesthetic requirements for the social adaptation of the patient. Immediately after installation of the implant, a temporary crown is installed; permanent prosthetics can be started in 2-4 months.
Implantation immediately after tooth extraction. This type of implantation has several advantages, which simplifies the work of the doctor, and of course, the patient’s life:
In one visit, the surgeon simultaneously makes a tooth extraction and implant implantation into the socket of the extracted tooth with the obligatory use of bone material;
Bone tissue receives the necessary load, and atrophy does not occur;
The terms of treatment are reduced and prosthetics can begin on average after 2 months.
Delayed implantation after tooth extraction. The operation is carried out 2-4 months after tooth extraction.
